Picasso’s Moon – Yarn!

Here’s a new (to me) yarn shop, right in downtown Sarasota – Picasso’s Moon.

Reopened last year, Picasso’s Moon is a small but yarn-packed riot of colorful fibery goodness. Describing itself as a “unique, funky yarn shop”, I have to say it’s absolutely truth in advertising!

The shop is filled with many one-of-a-kind and unusual yarns, indie hand-dyed and luxury fibers, as well as plenty of basics. There are great felted items on display and lots of inspiration to create your own bags, mittens, and scarves.

Deborah, the owner, made us feel very welcome and right at home. Even the Hubs commented on what a fun relaxing feel the shop had. Next trip to Sarasota, I’ve got to make sure it includes a Wednesday night so I can go to their weekly "knit and bitch". I can only imagine what a fun bunch of knitters would hang out there!

Definitely worth a visit! Picasso’s Moon is easy to find, and it’s easy to park in their lot right beside the shop.

So, what did I get? Some beautiful mauve Jojoland Wool, enough for a small shawl, and some sooooft undyed fingering weight alpaca for fun with the dyepot.
